Competition Overview:
The Copa de Oro, organized by Osito Coffee, is a premier coffee competition held in Huila, Colombia. Designed to identify and celebrate outstanding coffees, the event follows a rigorous format:
Blind Cupping Rounds: All coffees are evaluated without knowledge of the producer to ensure impartiality.
Regional Categorization: Coffees compete within the Western, Central, and Southern regions of Huila.
Final Evaluation: 15Top-scoring coffees (5 from each region) advance to a final cupping table, where judges determine the champions based on the average cupping score - including previous rounds.
We are proud to share that Vivid Coffee’s founder and green buyer, Ian Bailey, was invited to participate as a judge in this important. His firsthand experience in the competition gives us even greater insight into the exceptional quality of these coffees.
