This coffee is cultivated, processed, milled, and exported by Hacienda La Minita (which operates their US based office just a few miles away in Hinesburg, Vermont). This particular coffee, the prized Gesha-variety, is grown on 1 acre of land at the highest elevation of their farm Hacienda La Pradera. They have named this plot of land Rancho Grande. This coffee is incredibly limited due to a multitude of factors; including the size of the lot and the fact that Gesha is a low-yield variety. Not to mention, La Minita decided to process a limited amount of this variety, which was originally discovered in Panama, with a typical Costa Rican processing method: the honey-process. This process adds a beautiful tropical fruit sweetness to the otherwise typical complexity of the Gesha variety such as bergamot, jasmine. We don’t have a lot of this coffee and will be roasting small batches through July as our limited supply allows.
