Bogalech Dukkale returns to Vivid Coffee for a second year, marking an important milestone in our sourcing relationships. This is the first Ethiopian coffee to join our Relationship Coffee category, reflecting our commitment to purchasing from Bogalech year after year.

Bogalech is a 45-year-old mother of six who, alongside her husband, manages a four-hectare coffee farm in Ethiopia’s Sidamo region. She inherited the land from her parents, continuing a family tradition of coffee farming across generations. Through our importing partner, Osito, and their longstanding relationship with Sookoo, we have the opportunity to purchase her coffee as a distinct, single-farm lot.

This year, we purchased precisely half of Bogalech’s harvest, with the other half going to a European buyer. For us, that commitment is about more than securing an exceptional coffee. It’s an investment in a lasting relationship with a producer whose work we believe in.

In the cup, this naturally processed coffee is remarkably elegant. Expect the juicy sweetness of fruit punch and ripe pineapple, balanced by delicate jasmine florals and lively acidity. The result is a clean, refined cup with vibrant fruit character and a floral complexity that invites another sip.
