We’re thrilled to share Bogalech Dukkale, our very first single-farm coffee from Ethiopia—a meaningful milestone for us and a signal of exciting change in the country’s coffee landscape. Until recently, Ethiopian coffee exports were largely limited to co-ops and regional washing stations. But with new regulations easing access to the global market, smallholder producers like Bogalech Dukkale are finally able to share their coffee under their own names.

Bogalech is a 45-year-old mother of six who, alongside her husband, cultivates coffee on her family’s four-hectare farm in the Guji region. She inherited the land from her parents, continuing a legacy of generational coffee farming with care and intention.

This coffee was naturally processed, but you’d be forgiven for mistaking it for a washed lot. It’s remarkably elegant, showcasing delicate florals and lively acidity alongside the lush sweetness of ripe fruit. We taste fruit punch, pineapple, and jasmine—a cup that feels both joyful and refined.

This is a rare opportunity to experience a single-producer Ethiopian coffee, and we’re honored to offer Bogalech’s work as a reflection of what’s possible when great farming meets thoughtful sourcing and just a little more transparency.
